Q: What is the most important thing I can do improve my accent?
A: In general, prosody (intonation, stress and speech rhythm) is the most important thing to work on if you want to reduce your accent. Depending on your language background and goals, sounds are also important. From our experience, generally, students find it a bit easier to start off with sounds and then work on prosody. You can sign-up for a free consultation and we will give you personalized recommendations.

A: We try to make you aware of what your English pronunciation problems are, and then we provide step-by-step techniques about how to improve. That is, we take a sound you know, and then we tell you how to move your lips, teeth and/or tongue to change the familiar sound into the difficult English sound. We call this Steps to Sounds™. We also provide pictures to remind you how to pronounce sounds. We call this VisiSound™.
Q: Who teaches the accent reduction lessons?
A: Each lesson is taught by a qualified linguist (most with master’s degrees).
Linguists make excellent accent reduction teachers because they know how to research and understand your language. This means that they are able to understand why you make the English pronunciation mistakes you do and suggest appropriate techniques and strategies. If you are interested in working for us - we're recruiting. Please see our jobs page.
Some people specifically request to have lessons with Rebecca (the creator of the online software). This request can generally be accommodated based on Rebecca’s availability.

Q: Can you help me with career skills, such as interviewing and presenting?
A: Yes, of course! We can work with you to meet your specific needs. Please schedule a free consultation to learn more.
Q: How does the web conferencing work?
A: It’s easy. You will need a headset, and, if you have one, a webcam. We conduct lessons over Skype. Using Skype, you will be able to both see and hear your instructor – it’s better than even being in the same room, because you can take lessons comfortably at home.
